High School Musical Star Headed to Court Vanessa Hudgens

A lawsuit filed against High School Musical star Vanessa Hudgens will go forward, according to a Superior Court Judge Tricia Ann Bigelow. She believes a jury should hear the case of the lawsuit brought by Hudgens’ former attorney Brian Schall. He is suing Vanessa for over $150,000 in owed legal fees. He filed a breach-of-contract suitin September. Allegedly, she agreed in October 2005 to give him 5% of her earnings as payment for his legal work. He says, because of him, she earned over $5 million.

Vanessa nullified the agreement on October 9th. California law says that a contract with a minor can be voided before they are 18 or “within a reasonable time afterward.” She turns 19 on December 14, so it will be up to a jury to decide if she acted within that reasonable time.

She returns to court on January 15.
