Taryn Manning Turns Uptown to Trailer Park

Taryn Manning has made an acting career out of playing low-rent skanks but it looks like her characters are taking over her life. The Boomcat singer’s musical performance at Lily Pond nightclub this past Saturday made the Hamptons feel more like a middle-of-nowhere trailer park kegger. Forget world peace, the end of terrorism or making poverty history. What the world really needs is to put a stop to actresses thinking they can have a great career in music. What are record companies thinking anyway? It’s not like there’s a serious lack of talent in the current singers out there. I’d pick American Idol rejects over another actress turned wannabe singer.

David Archuleta Signs Deal

American Idol runner up David Archuleta has signed a record deal with 19 Recordings/Jive Records and is expected to release his debut album later this year. The 17-year old said “Signing a record contract with 19 Recordings/Jive Records is truly a dream come true. Being a fan of American Idol since season one and admiring the alumni, I am honored and humbled to be a part of that group. I’m really excited to start working on everything.” Both Simon Fuller, the chief executive and founder of 19 Entertainment Label Group, and Tom Carrabba, the Executive Vice President and General Manager of Jive/Zomba Label Group, had nothing but good things to say of David. Fuller said “Without question, David Archuleta has a great future ahead of him.” Carrabba said “David Archuleta has already shown the world that he is a star. He’s a young, talented singer with wide appeal and we’re thrilled to have him join our roster.”

David Cook Snags Idol Reject

Now that he’s been crowned the new American Idol, David Cook pretty much has his pick on the gamut of women that are after the self-proclaimed single guy. But once he got the chance, David chose to go for a fellow Idol contestant of seasons past. The American Idol champ asked out former Idol star Kimberly Caldwell on live television on Wednesday night and on Sunday night, he finally cashed in. I guess he likes the blondes. Sorry ladies, it looks like the only fresh Idol meat left is David Archuleta. Be careful though, the little guy is still jailbait after all.

American Idol Has Paparazzi Already

There’s no definitive winner of American Idol yet but the paparazzi doesn’t seem to care. Idol finalist David Cook and a few of his friends were spotted grabbing slices of pizza at the Beverly Center Mall’s Sbarro pizzeria in Beverly Hills on Thursday with paparazzi hot on their trail. During this week’s finale, Cook will sing first since David Archuleta won a coin toss and chose to sing 2nd. Archuleta says “I’ve always looked up to Cook and admired all the work he’s done with his talent. To be here standing next to him is just unbelievable.” Cook only had nice things to say back saying “I consider it a huge honor to share the stage with the kid. He’s the real deal. All the buzz coming in, he deserves.”

American Idol Stoner - Jason Castro

He’s got the dreadlocks, those heavily lidded eyes and even short-term memory lapse – could Jason Castro have been high the whole time? According to his comments to OK! magazine, he never was. The American Idol castoff said that he’s never been stoned in his life saying “I think that, especially with things like [AI], people like to stereotype so easily. People have always said that. I don’t worry about what people say.” Yeah! Leave the guy alone! No one has made any speculation on anything about anyone else on this season’s Idol roster. What makes him so special? People should just mind their own business sometimes.

Drunken Paula Abdul

As many of you American Idol fans have guessed, Paula Abdul was most likely drunk during her loopy appearance on the performance show on Tuesday. According to some sources, Paula had a martini with her lunch at around 1 in the afternoon Pacific time at Maggiano’s. Idol tapes at 5PM LA time. The Idol judge was said to be bubbly when she left the restaurant and had to have an assistant shut her up. Either Paula is a lightweight or she had more than one martini with her lunch. There’s also a chance that her drinking didn’t stop when she stopped her lunch.

American Idol Reject Denies Bitterness

The word bitter used to describe a person is pretty much clear in definition but that’s not going to stop American Idol reject Carmen Rasmusen from denying that she’s being bitter. Earlier this week, the wannabeen claimed in an article she wrote that the show was rigged and that some contestants are favoured and treated better than others. A few days after it came out, Carmen said that it wasn’t written out of bitterness but rather insightfulness saying “The only point I was trying to make was that some contestants get more attention than others.” Did she miss the part where she rattled on about getting beaten by a guy who spent more time with the same vocal coach she had? That’s what you call being a sore loser.

American Idol Stage Dad

American Idol sources have said that David Archuleta’s father, Jeff, is a stage dad. They say that Jeff actually made David cry when his recording didn’t go so well. If you think it’s mere rumor, here’s something else to swallow. Sources from ‘Star Search’, another show that David was on, Jeff’s behaviour was so bad that he was actually barred from the lot. They also say that her harassed Tiffany Evans, David’s rival on the show, by lurking outside her practices and even coercing her to drink milk before a show to ruin her voice. As far as Idol goes, Jeff’s wrath is still in bloom. Poor David.

Homeless American Idol Gets to Work

American Idol’s Hollywood Week castoff Josiah Leming was living out of his car when he auditioned for the show. But earlier this week, the teenager with a British accent when he sings was spotted on his way to a business meeting at Mr. Chow in Beverly Hills. The kid also plans on getting into the recording studio within the next few months. That’s more than what many former Top 12 Idols can even claim. Although there’s no word on where or in what he’s currently living in, he’s definitely making his way up. Good for him! The kid deserves some good fortune.

Idol Reject is a Hit - Taylor Hicks

When you go off to be a contestant on American Idol, you either become a hit or you don’t. that applies to everyone, including the winner. *cough*Taylor Hicks*cough*

One of the first season’s Top 10 finalists, RJ Helton, still has a career and he is actually a hit. But of course, you would only know that if you go into the gay clubs. The singer was seen dropping to his underwear at San Francisco gay Latin club ‘Escandelo’ last weekend. Is he being paid to show off his singing skills or something else?

Chace to Carrie to Tony to Jessica

American Idol alum and one of they year’s best selling artists Carrie Underwood was spotted with ‘Gossip Girl’ actor Chace Crawfor walking around New York City on Friday morning. It seems that the two are still together despite some break up rumors. The 24-year old singer was initially link to the 22-year old actor in October.Earlier in the year, Carrie was linked to Dallas Cowboys quarterback Tony Romo when they attended the 2007 Academy of Country Music Awards. But since then, Tony has been linked with another blonde singer, Jessica Simpson. It seems that what goes around, does come around. Did you get all that?

Britney Takes a Shower

In a rare moment of her actually doing an interview, Britney Spears still finds some way to screw things up. She did an interview with KIIS-FMs ‘On Air with Ryan Seacrest’ on Wednesday morning but apparently, it just doesn’t compare to completing her morning routine.

In the middle of the interview with Britney, she all of a sudden passed the phone to her so-called cousin/assistant/professional friend Alli. When asked about where Britney went, Alli nonchalantly answered that the pop wreck was taking a shower.

Before she took off though, Ryan was able to ask when she expects to see her kids. Britney had no clue and answered “My lawyers know about all that.” Way to show your love.

Chace Supports Carrie

All hopes of keeping their lives private are definitely out the window when Carrie Underwood and ‘Gossip Girl’ star Chace Crawford were seen hopping out of the same SUV for a taping of The Early Show on Wednesday morning. Chace hid backstage while Carrie performed some songs from her new album ‘Carnival Ride’

Later that morning, the couple was then spotted at Live with Regis and Kelly where Carrie performed as well. Chace’s ‘Gossip Girl’ co-star Blake Lively, who was also a guest, was reportedly surprised to see Chace at the taping. Blake may be one of few who are still in the dark when it comes to Chace and Carrie.

Kat McPhee is a Doll

American Idol runner up Katharine McPhee is the cover girl of October’s issue of the Atlanta Peach Magazine. Kat is one of those idols that looks hot and is quickly becoming some sort of sex symbol but I just think that she looks so much like Real doll ‘Celine’.

Maybe it’s a combination of the vacant look in the eyes, the tons of caked on make up and slightly open mouth. It’s as if she’s saying “I’m not quite listening but ready for anything”. It’s not attractive for a celebrity status that’s not of a porn star. But hey, she’s still every heterosexual man’s dream.
