Former child star Butch Patrick more than 40 years after he starred as Eddie Munster

Happy Halloween! Here’s former child star Butch Patrick more than 40 years after he starred as cheeky Eddie in hit 60s TV show The Munsters.

Butch was only 11 years old when he landed the role as The Munsters’ only son.

But now aged 56 he could be set for a cameo role in the Hollywood movie take on the classic series and is getting ready for his busiest time of the year – Halloween.

Butch said: “The Wayans brothers are going to make The Munsters movie and it should be in production very soon.

“I’ve talked to the production company in charge of making the movie with the Wayans and they spoke about having me coming on as continuity director or doing a cameo.

“I’m hoping to be involved in it at some level. Maybe I would play the grown-up Eddie.

“I’m waiting to hear back from them but it would be fun.”

He added: “Halloween is always a busy time for me with lots of appearances and promotions.

“I will be appearing at a casino in Santa Fe, New Mexico, this year but I don’t dress up anymore.”

But Butch, who divides his time between LA and New York, won’t be watching any horror films for Halloween.

He said: “I’m not much of a horror movie fan.

“I do like the classics, like The Creature From The Black Lagoon and the old Dracula movies.”

Busy Butch has also written a book called Eddie Munster AKA Butch Patrick, which covers 25 years of his career.

He also owns The Munsters website www.munsters.com.

Butch has fond memories of his late Munsters co-stars, including Fred Gwynne and Yvonne De Carlo who played his screen parents Herman and Lily Munster.

He said: “While they were alive we saw each other and it was always fun.

“We certainly had a good time when we worked together.”
