Jessica Alba reveals Dark Angel stunts bring out the warrior in her
By IsabellaMovie beauty Jessica Alba has revealed that she feels so proud of doing her own stunts, she regards herself as a “warrior’.
She said: “I honestly see myself more like a warrior than a sex symbol.”
The new mum has insisted that she will “never do a nude scene in a movie” – but has no problems getting bruised and battered for a part.
“In movies, I don’t use a body double,” she said.
“There isn’t a single part of my body that hasn’t been bloodied, bruised or broken. I’m not always a very pretty sight!”
She says the “warrior” in her came out when she auditioned for high-action show Dark Angel.
“[The show's creator] James Cameron told me I would never be able to handle the role,” she recalled.
“So I trained in kung-fu, karate, Thai boxing, gymnastics.
“I know I could handle my own against four guys if I wanted to.”
She also revealed that her tough attitude comes in part from being bullied at school – and now wishing she had chosen to fight back.
“I’m tough now because as a kid I never fought back,” she said, revealing that her dad had to walk her to school and that she would eat her lunch in the nurse’s office to avoid being attacked.
“I feel so bad for any other kid who is getting bullied.”
