Here’s Michael Jackson as you’ve never seen him before – in dark black make- up and with a beard.

The singer – whose skin became progressively lighter throughout his life – wanted to go to a concert by band Kool And The Gang with his date, actress Tatum O’Neal.

But he didn’t want to be hassled.

So he brought in Hollywood special effects genius, Rick Baker to create him a unique disguise, sources say.

An insider revealed: “He didn’t want people to know he was at the gig.

“So he asked Rick Baker to help him out.

“Rick created this beard for him, and did some work on Michael’s lips.

“He also gave him make-up to make his skin look darker.

“Then Michael and Tatum went to the show together.

“I’m not sure if anyone ended up recognizing him or not.”

The insider added: “Michael loved it. He thought it was so much fun.

“I always thought it was funny that he had darker skin, then seemed to spend the rest of his life making it lighter.”

Jacko, who died last Thursday in Los Angeles at the age of 50, is said to have spent tens of thousands of dollars on the disguise – thought to be in late 1982.

He and his family were staying at suites at the New York’s Helmsley Palace at the hotel at the time.

The insider said the couple went to see the Celebration stars at the city’s Madison Square Garden.

At the time the Polaroid photograph was snapped, Jackson would have been approximately 23-years-old.

The picture has never been seen before.

Meanwhile, Tatum, 45, said of Michael Jackson’s death: “There are no words that can express the sadness I feel in my heart. My condolences go out to his family.”

In 2004 she hit out at claims Jacko had made on US TV that she tried to seduce him.

The Paper Moon star said in her autobiography that the then 17-year-old first tried to kiss her when she was just 12-years-old.

She wrote: “I was just twelve and not at all ready for a real-life encounter.

“Michael, who was sweating profusely, seemed as intimidated as I was. He jumped up nervously and said, ‘Uh… gotta go.’”

Nevertheless, the pair remained pals for several years afterwards.
