A diamond ring that has appeared on Heather Locklear’s left ring finger is arousing curiosity.

The actress, 47 and a former star of Melrose Place, was reportedly seen wearing the ring when she arrived at Los Angeles International Airport with longtime boyfriend Jack Wagner on June 10.

But it was not to be seen when she attended the Crystal and Lucy Awards two days later. Then on June 14, the ring was back on when Locklear lunched with Wagner, 49, a former Melrose co-star, her daughter Ava, 11, and a friend. An observer claimed she took it off when she saw reporters.

A friend of Locklear and Wagner said: “She’s in it for the long haul with Jack. Their friends know their future is together… But they’re not officially engaged.”

Locklear’s publicist has denied that the actress is engaged.

The friend also said: “They’re having so much fun. They just had a really fun trip to New York together, and they have plans for over the summer. They’re just enjoying being together… Things are great between Heather and Richie [Sambora, Locklear's ex-husband] too, and Jack and Richie. It could not be a more healthy situation for everyone.”
