Troy star Diane Kruger is the latest celebrity to moan about her looks and says being beautiful “opens a lot of doors, and closes others”.

Diane, 32, said she was grateful to land a role in new movie Anything For Her, where she plays a young mum falsely accused of murder and thrown in jail.

Diane said she was happy to get the role: “I wasn’t hired just because I’m a pretty girl in a movie.”

She added: “It was really liberating not to be the girl for the sake of there being a girl. And not having to go to hair and make-up for two hours every day was a relief.”

Diane’s most notable role to date is her part as Helen of Troy in the epic 2004 film Troy alongside Brad Pitt and Eric Bana.

She said: “But I understand I’m here because of the way I look. I mean hey, I was cast as Helen of Troy in the movie Troy.”

She added: “You sound like an a** when you moan about your looks. It opens a lot of doors, and closes others. Then again, actors who aren’t the hottest guy or girl on the planet have other challenges.”

Justin Timberlake’s girlfriend Jessica Biel recently said her good looks were hurting her career.
