Tom Cruise’s Valkyrie wins in the box office

Tom Cruise is still the Top Gun and the top man when it comes to movies that earn. His new film “Valkyrie” which is directed by “Usual Suspects” director Bryan Singer, has placed fourth in the holiday box-office with sales worth $21.5 million during the first three days and sales worth $30 million since it opened last Christmas. MGM’s Erik Lornis said the film is playing in 2,700 theaters but more locations will be added this week to target the mid size markets. Lornis said MGM is pretty pleased with the result of the movie which features Cruise as the German officer named Claus von Stauffenberg out to kill Hitler.
A lot of people discouraged him from doing the movie as its ending was common knowledge. However, Cruise always loved a challenge so he did it anyway. History will show Cruise’ untraditional role choices including his role in Rain Man where he played opposite Dustin Hoffman and Born On The Fourth Of July. The question of whether Cruise will make it in the role of a German military assassin has at last been finally answered with the continuous ringing of the cash machine
